Perennial Powhiri
An entrance with impact, a visual riot of colour and texture that draws the guest to the homes entrance, an outdoor welcome lounge. This modern cottage garden was inspired by Piet Oudolf ‘s perennial landscape design movement.
A pagoda defines a distinct transition from curbside to property. The boardwalk to the home, welcomes then widens as you approach the front door.
This elevated boardwalk provides a heightened perspective of the garden as guests arrive. At each transition there is a gentle step down and a change in perspective from Citrus grove, to lawn, sensory garden then finally a wide welcoming outdoor lounge.
Symmetry and proportion were defined by a central axis - the boardwalk, which links each zone.
