Q. What is the process to obtain a concept design?

This is usually a 1 to 1.5 hour discussion, fleshing out the possibilities for your vision. We talk through perceived issues or restraints to the design and broad ideation of proportions, themes, hard and softscaping ideas.

Fee proposal

This will be drafted for you based on the consultation, Once approved, your project will be booked in. We will invoice you 50% of project fee when your design booking is imminent. The balance is charged when the concept design is complete or 2 weeks after it is finally uploaded.

Reverse brief

Once payment is received, a reverse brief will be drafted to inform the design and future project partners.

It is drafted by our team with your input and approval & encapsulates;

  • Your vision for your properties style & lifestyle goals.

  • A site analysis including the sites ecological nuances, soil and existing planting profile, prevailing wind direction, sun and privacy parameters.

  • Property caveats, council requirements, possible red lights & your budget are outlined.

Site survey and pre-measure

Once the brief is complete we will revisit your property, take exploratory photos and review any site surveys or council records about your property. Ideally a recent site survey will provide a more accurate concept. If a pool or consented structure is desired, a survey will be need to partner your council submission. These can take a bit of time at present, so we generally work off council geo maps and can amend the design to an actual survey if required.

Presentation

About 4 weeks from on you’ll be presented with your concept. A3 or A2 pdfs, digital files with enough information to obtain quotes from a contractor. Sometimes with bespoke design features, further detailed design is required.
